One of the most frequently used and familiar applications for any user is Windows Explorer. Many of the steps for cleaning a hard disk can be done directly from it. The recycle bin stores files deleted by the user in case they need to be restored. This is one of the reasons for system messages about the lack of space on the hard drive, even when a lot of information has just been deleted – everything has moved to the Trash. We will clean it.

To do this, in the “Explorer” select “Basket” and click on it with the right mouse button. In the context menu that opens, go to the line “Empty Trash”. The “Explorer” will ask us if we are sure of our desire to permanently delete what is in the “Basket”, and after confirmation it will clean it up. There will be more disk space. Now let’s move on to the disk itself. The cleaning procedure already familiar to us can be started from the Explorer. To do this, first select the logical drive that we plan to free from unnecessary information, for example, the main system drive C: \. Pointing the mouse cursor at it, press the right button, and in the context menu that appears, select the line “Properties”.

Select “Properties”

The Properties: Local Disk (C 🙂 window contains several tabs. First, go to General. Here you can see the data on the availability of free space on the drive, as well as the “Disk Cleanup” button we need. We click it, we get into the familiar window of the profile utility.

  • Properties Local Disk C
  • Press the clear button
  • The “Service” tab contains buttons that launch other useful functions
  • “Run check” – scan the disk and search for errors.
  • “Defragment” – grouping information in a more convenient way for the file system.
  • “Archive” – the ability to create on another medium a copy of important information in the form of an archive.

After cleaning the main disk in the same way you need to do with the rest of the logical devices.

Windows app data cleaner Reg Organizizer

This is a powerful and multifunctional program for comprehensive servicing of various versions of Windows: Xp, 7, 8, 8.1, 10. Despite the fact that it includes utilities for cleaning the disk, uninstalling programs, speeding up the OS, setting up fine-tuning, etc., all the same, its main direction is work with the registry. The program allows you to completely get rid of the various “tails” in the registry, correctly remove the program (including those that are no longer on the disk, but information about them remained in the system registry). Also, the utility does a good job of clearing auto load, so your computer starts loading faster.

Utilities for removing programs

Another Windows appdata cleanup is IObit Uninstaller. It is no secret that the utility for uninstalling programs built into Windows is not very functional. And it often happens that she cannot delete any program at all. In this case, you have to use specials programs, and one of them is Iobit Uninstaller. Iobit Uninstaller allows you to see ALL installed programs on your computer (respectively, and remove any of them!). Moreover, you can conveniently sort them by installation date, by size, by frequency of use, etc. There is also a convenient search that can quickly help you find one or software. When you delete a program in the usual way (for example, through the START menu), the “tails” remain in the registry – old entries about it. Iobit Uninstaller, upon removal, checks the registry – and if necessary, remove the information from there, i.e. the system is kept clean.

In addition to programs, Iobit Uninstaller allows you to monitor and remove toolbars, plugins and extensions for browsers. In this program alone, you can quickly and easily remove all unnecessary from your browsers (it is especially useful when you grab some kind of virus – a variety of adware that will show you a mountain of ads, and a classic antivirus will tell you that everything is in order). It is also worth noting that Iobit Uninstaller monitors startup, and if any program is added to it, it will notify you of this and offer to limit or optimize startup.
